Tara rafting
Tara rafting is one of the best-known outdoor experiences around Plužine. The common one-day section covers approximately 18 kilometers from Brštanovica to Šćepan Polje, where the Tara meets the Piva and forms the Drina. During a stay in Brezna, allow a full day and book through an established local operator.

What a rafting day usually involves
Programs vary, but most begin with a meeting in the Šćepan Polje area, equipment collection and organized transport to the starting point. A safety briefing is followed by the descent through rapids, calmer pools and breaks selected by the skipper.
The day normally finishes back around Šćepan Polje. Breakfast, lunch, transport, insurance and photographs are not included in the same way by every operator, so read the offer carefully before booking.
What to expect on the river
The Tara combines a powerful natural setting with changing water conditions. The experience is not identical throughout the season: higher water generally creates a faster and more dynamic descent, while later periods may be calmer. The operator makes the final assessment on the day.
Choosing an operator
Choose a provider that clearly explains what is included, what equipment is supplied, who leads the raft and which rules apply to children or guests without experience. The lowest price should not be the main criterion for an activity on a fast mountain river.
